In a celebration of parallel milestones, Highs and Lows and Pleasures reunite for “10/20” – a capsule that marks two decades of HAL and a decade of Pleasures, wrapped in the shared language of outsider culture, subversion, and cinema.
The two brands have crossed paths before, first in 2017 with a capsule of distorted graphics and disrupted text. That collection set the tone. HAL’s quiet design precision aligned with Pleasures’ raw and unapologetic voice. A year later, they came together again for a pop-up in Perth alongside StreetX, solidifying a bond built on mutual respect, deep-cut references, and a shared love for culture on the fringe.
Now, “20/10” sees the relationship mature without losing its original edge. The centrepiece is a graphic t-shirt influenced by Steven Soderbergh’s Sex, Lies and Videotape, a film that, like both brands, speaks in subtext. The visual language of the collection nods to the film’s grainy voyeurism and quiet emotional tension. A portrait of vulnerability and human complexity, reframed through streetwear’s lens.
Highs and Lows continues to honour its roots. Design-focused, community-first, with a thoughtful approach to storytelling. Pleasures remains committed to pushing buttons, provoking thought, and celebrating imperfection. Together, the capsule becomes more than merch. It is a dialogue between two cities, two brands, and two decades of shaping their own narratives.
This is 10/20. A reflection. A timestamp. A tribute to independence and the beauty of not fitting in.
